Hello little starchild. Did I catch you tripping through the wind or was it you who caught me? Fresh off the tracks from another Glasslands ball. I lost a weekend. I misplaced my heart but worst of all I lost my sense of security. Could it be more relevant there was never anything there at all? If it's so amazing, why does everything feel like a hazing for a lack of both parties? You told me you were depressed & I guess that's what impressed me most of all. So if you're a starchild I can see the fireworks exploding like a twisted New Year's Eve, golden fireballs & spades, arrows of malachites & jades.
Could it be that a man like me is incomplete, as an
individual, that he needs the image repertoire as represented in the other. Images of my demise linger with me. I'm only mourning over something that's perceived, and you the other would go on, without batting an eye. If it's all beginning to fall apart, I can tell you right now, Tina, you'll always get over a broken heart. If it's all the same to you & me, I never thought it'd come down to my sexual insecurities. I'll never see you again. If it's so amazing, why does everything feel like a hazing? I never thought I'd die this way. Like Job I look back and reflect on the mistakes that I've made. All the little pieces, though they're shattered, broken, split, and scattered still haunt us to this day. What a surprise to find it was just a fling from my better days, my redder days.

Lormier can be gloomy this time of year, like a rainy day in November she sang to me, though she never really sang at all. I took her hand & we stumbled past the taxicabs full of dreamers, lovers, & oh, how she danced for me, looking like a caryatid about to fall. You & I, we thought we had to climb, but oh no, crawling back. Did you ever think that I'd change, when there's so much to change, & it always seems the same? Why did you run away? I tried to be a nice guy, bet they always play it that way. I can find your place alright. People never change, another gust in the wind, the apple fell far from the tree. I'll never blame you again. I'm a year older now and there's a developed sense of security. You & I, we thought we had the time, but oh no. I think I fell in love. No shut up, you only kissed her once & she left the country. I've had time to think. No shut up, you never think about anything, anymore. Maybe you’re right.

Days flying by, burn into night, taken in stride, I'd be,
relieved, sullen through the day. But decadent lies are all that I find, losing my mind, I've been deceived by the never ending chase. Tiny particles careening through space. All we want to do is get a grip on this place. Follow your kind, keeping in mind, elegance lies, I’d be relieved. They could give it to me straight. Everyone lies, I know that they try. I've been deceived. Is there any other way? Photographs of loved ones have no place, seeping through the cracks of our embrace. I did it wrong. Where are my friends? The nights are getting cold. I need a way to scale and climb, the walls, the mighty obstacles we find along the road less taken. Take my hand, let's begin.

Tear through the stars & through the cold, back into the fold, a myth that I was never told. We're getting older by the hour, slipping & slipping away, figure that I know. My intuition is failing me, these fragile pieces shake my nights. Inhibitions of yesterday, found a way, leave them all behind. Found a way to make us young again, found a track to rebirth. I'd say no. We're finally on a roll. Sing a song of vengeance loud & clear, sing of obsession, whatever we sow. We're gaining momentum now, can you feel the power beneath us grow. Inhibitions of yesterday, come on, let's take back control. Ripping through the night to find, we're back into my absolution. Tear up the plans we had, and we’ll ride on into hell. See all the lights, idling. Take off all these chains, sidling. No, Khan, I'll never change. That old white whale keeps howling, never quite the same. To hell with your conventions, I can break them all. Ahab's the sucker in the fold.
